Elmhurst Outpatient Surgery Center (EOSC) is a state-of-the-art, JCAHO accredited ASC, located on the Elmhurst Memorial Center for Health campus. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Surgical Technician

Full Time - 40 hours/week
8:30 am - 5:00 pm

All candidates must possess the following:

  • Certified by the Association of Surgical Technologists.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience, preferably in an ASC setting.
  • Ability to rotate through all service lines, including ophthalmology and GI.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with people at all levels including nursing staff, technicians, business office staff, other managers, physicians, executive management, etc.
  • Ability to flex hours to accommodate early/late shifts when necessary.

Clinical Coordinator - Operating Room

Full Time - 40 hours - Salaried
6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Reports to Director of Surgical Services

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and maintains daily workflow of all operating rooms. Reviews schedule in advance to identify potential equipment or time conflicts, delays or cancellations. Confirms that all special equipment, instrumentation and/or implants have been received and processed in advance of the scheduled case.
  • Manages and prioritizes individual and department projects and activities in a satisfactory manner. Ensures proper time is allotted for activities and that they are completed timely. Communicates project status and updates to Director and/or other team members involved.
  • Current knowledge of sterile processing standards. Must be able to monitor logs and sterile processing practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and EOSC policies/procedures.
  • Keeps current on AORN, Joint Commission, IDPH, CMS, and other regulatory body standards to ensure EOSC remains compliant. Ability to communicate standards effectively to all staff and assist in updating policies/protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Generates monthly staff schedules to ensure sufficient coverage. Reviews surgery schedule daily to determine case volume, staff need and appropriate assignments.
  • Participates in staff recruitment, orientation, ongoing education, performance evaluations and discipline.
  • Participates in development of annual operating room plan/goals, FTE and operational budgets, quality and performance improvement initiatives, EOSC committees, etc.

All Candidates Must Possess the Following:

  • Current Illinois license and CPR certification. BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience; preferably in an ASC setting.
  • Working knowledge of all service lines. Ability to scrub/circulate as needed to assist with breaks/lunches, call-ins, high volume days, etc.
  • Ability to set and manage multiple responsibilities and priorities simultaneously. Ability to function in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, well organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, hectic environment. Ability to demonstrate appropriate action in emergency situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with people at all levels including surgeons, vendors, nursing staff, technicians, business office staff, other managers, physicians, executive management, etc.
  • Ability to flex hours to accommodate early/late shifts, staffing conflicts, etc. as necessary.
  • Proficiency in using standard Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
